Twilight Movie Road Trip Guide Started as a Family Trip

The Twilight saga captured the attention of viewers on November 21, 2008. With a budget of $37 million and Indie-like production, the film had a special vibe with wide appeal. Whether Team Edward or Team Jacob, there was a part of the film you could relate to. The series progressed, and since we live in Washington State, we thought a Twilight Movie Filming Locations Road Trip to the original filming locations would be a great new way to appreciate the movie.  This is what started the Twilight Movie Road Trip Guide.

Did you know the original Twilight movie filming locations were not actually In Forks?

We were all set to drive to Forks and La Push, located In the furthermost northwest parts of Washington state. But after doing a little research, we were surprised to find that our trip would take us In the opposite direction: Twilight was actually filmed around the Columbia River region that straddles Oregon and Washington. Even though Twilight is set in Forks, and the town of Forks has purchased some film memorabilia, you will not find any of the actual filming locations there.

Our First Twilight Movie Road Trip

At the time of our first trip (2012) It was really hard to find filming locations and we weren’t sure what we’d find once we got there, so It was a real adventure. We’ve revisited since, including this last summer (2024), to see how things have changed. This ebook reflects those changes, as well.Enjoy the movie, then plan a Twilight Road Trip. Have a meal at the Carver Café and visit the beach that represented La Push, you will enjoy the movie on a whole different level. We still talk about the trip to this day and have plans to return to our favorite spots soon. Have fun!!
