One of the things I love about travel is the special memories that are made. A recent girls-only trip to Victoria, BC with my daughters, mom, and mother-in-law was full of special moments, and was a trip that we will be talking about for years to come.
Hotels in Victoria BC – The Parkside Hotel & Spa
We stayed at the beautiful, contemporary Parkside Hotel & Spa, located a short, flat walk from the main shopping area of Victoria – Grab coffee at the espresso bar in the lobby, walk out the front doors and straight down Humbolt a few blocks and you’ll find yourself in the heart of Victoria. Your kids will love the Parkside: There is a pool, a theater room for nightly family movies and a koi pond that you step across to one of the entrances. You will love the full-service espresso bar in the lobby and lovely spa.
Ours was a 2-bedrooms suite with kitchenette and patio with stunning views, making for a welcome retreat after a day of shopping and sight seeing, and a quiet place for some downtime and P&Q for V when she needed a break. The hotel was comfortable and relaxing, with luxurious bedding and fire places in every room. I always appreciate having a kitchenette, sometimes V just isn’t up for going out. We ordered Indian food one night from Sizzling Tandoor – great food and wonderful company in our quiet room. Just what V needed.
Every morning I looked forward to opening our balcony door and waking my girls up to the sounds of birds chirping and gentle splashes of the fountain in the courtyard below.
Accessibility notes about the Parkside Hotel & Spa in Victoria, BC:
Ours was not a handicap accessible room, but there was a bench in the shower, which was all that I needed for V. The halls were wide enough for her wheelchair, and the bathroom in the master bedroom had a very wide doorway, essentially there wasn’t a wall there. There were no lifts for pool access. The walk to town is level, but cabs are available if you need a lift.
Disclaimer: We were guests of the hotel for our stay, the opinions and experiences are our own.
