I have a gluten allergy, and last summer when our family visited Disneyland I had a hard time finding gluten-free options in the Disneyland park. I was so hungry and spent so much time searching for gluten-free options that it was hard to have a good time. Hopefully you can learn from my experience so that you or your gluten-free family member can fully enjoy your visit.
Plan ahead
My first mistake was that I didn’t plan ahead. I had heard so much about how great Disneyland was with gluten-free options that I thought it was a given, that I’d be able to find options in every part of the park. Gluten-free items can be found that following park restaurants:
Disneyland Park:
Disney California Adventure Park:
There is no specific mention of gluten-free on the menu, you need to ask the server for their gluten-free items. When you get to Disneyland you can check in at City Hall for an updated list of gluten-free options.
Ask the chef
If you are at a buffet, or another Disneyland restaurant, ask the chef for gluten-free options, they are happy to accommodate you.
Bring your own snacks
I found most of the snack vendors and food carts have little in the way of gluten-free options, with the exception of fruit. Disneyland allows those with food allergies to bring their own food. I recommend packing your own snacks; protein bars, trail mix, chips, etc.

Thanks for this article! I shared it on my facebook page because I have so many friends who have gluten issues…either them or their kids. What a great topic to write on!
Thanks Stefanie!
